AI in Your School, on Your Terms

Working in education and watching what's happening with AI? Maybe these sound familiar:

  • Answers that are confidently wrong.
  • Students handed conclusions instead of learning how to reason.
  • Your school's data disappearing into companies thousands of miles away.

If you're thinking "stop, enough, give me a break", this one is for you.

Generative AI is remarkable. It can be an incredible learning resource, but only if the rules it follows are yours, not those of a third-party company that has never set foot in your school. That's where Boudica comes in. We're working with schools around the world to help their students learn about AI: what it is, how it can help them, what it isn't, and how to use it to their advantage.

One PC. Your School's AI.

A single powerful PC, the kind sold for gaming, sitting on the school's own network can serve a whole school. It answers from your school's own information: your policies, your term dates, your curriculum. There are no outside accounts, no external services and no data leaving the building. Your school's data, both students' and staff's, all stay inside your school's own system with no external access.

See it in a Real (fictional) School

To show what this looks like, we built Ysgol Bro Hiraeth, a fictional bilingual Welsh secondary school for ages 11 to 18. Everything on the site runs on Boudica and it was made purely for Demo purposes.

Key Features Include

Ask in Welsh, get Welsh back. Every page of the school's information exists in both Welsh and English. Ask in Welsh, and Boudica answers from the Welsh page, in Welsh, and lists the page it used. Even the system's own messages and headings follow the language of the question.

A study helper that won’t do homework. Ask it to solve your equation and it works through a different example, gives you the first step of yours, and asks you to finish it. Then it checks your answer. A second AI check makes sure it hasn't simply given the answer away.

Help for teachers, grounded in the curriculum. Lesson ideas, success criteria and marking rubrics, all built on the Curriculum for Wales.

Facts for parents, not guesses. The parents' helper only states what is in the school's own documents: term dates, uniform, buses, reporting an absence. If the answer isn't there, it says so and gives the school office number instead of making something up.

Safety first. Personal details are removed from questions, answers are checked against their sources before anyone sees them, and questions about danger or self-harm always get helpline numbers (Childline, Meic, 999), never an AI guess.

More Than a Chatbot

Boudica comes with a built-in, AI-enabled office suite (files, documents, calendar and mail), so you save on licenses too.

This means teachers get help planning lessons against the actual curriculum, students get help with assignments without being handed the answers, and everyone learns how to use AI safely so that when your students leave school they have a real working understanding of AI and are better prepared for work or further education.

The Boudica Offer to Schools

We are offering every school a free, perpetual licence of the OmniIndex Boudica AI platform. We will also train your staff, students and parents to manage, run and maintain it, free of charge.

The one thing we can't provide (yet!) is the PC. That part is up to you.

Want to see it in action? Visit our bilingual Welsh demo school at brohiraeth.myboudica.com, ask it something in English or Welsh, and try to get it to do your homework. And please, do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions via the contact forms on the site.
